For KiTas: what KiTa-Swiss is for

This page is for the people who run a KiTa: what KiTa-Swiss is, why we built it and whom it serves.

Why we do this

Parents look for a place under time pressure and write to many KiTas at once. KiTa-Swiss turns that into one clear request per KiTa, with the details a KiTa needs to answer it.

A parent’s request reaches the KiTa as one e-mail with three answer buttons. The KiTa can answer the parent directly, or choose one of the three answers: “we have room, come and visit”, “waiting list” or “no room”. A button opens a page on kita-swiss.ch where the KiTa confirms its answer, and we then tell the parent.

Whom we serve

Parents first: for them, the directory and contacting KiTas are always free. KiTas receive requests from real parents who chose them, never adverts.

If a KiTa would rather not take part

A KiTa that would rather not take part can tell us so once, by e-mail. We then note this against its e-mail address. From then on, requests reach it as a plain e-mail with the parent’s request, without answer buttons, and the KiTa replies to the parent directly.

The KiTa can undo this at any time with one more e-mail. Every change is recorded with its date, so the KiTa can always ask what we hold about its address.

Something wrong in a listing?

A KiTa whose listing is wrong or out of date can write to us. We correct it and record the source and the date: verify@kita-swiss.ch

What we never do

  • We never sell a ranking or a placement.
  • We never sell parents’ data. A parent’s request goes only to the KiTas the parent chooses.
  • We never charge parents to use the directory or to contact KiTas.
  • We never put a paywall on an answer.
